and recognise the inspirational stars across the entire credit and financial services industry.
Laura commented:
“It’s great to see more Awards like Women In Credit emerging and I love that their aim is to ’empower, connect, support and uncover achievements among women in the profession’. I’m very flattered to have been shortlisted for the two categories and wish the best of luck to all the finalists on the night.”
Importance of Diversity, Equality & Inclusion
Diversity and Gender issues are very much hot topics and important issues receiving more and more spotlight attention. Laura featured in a recent edition of the NACFB Magazine in an article entitled ‘The Importance of Diversity, Inclusion and Understanding within the Workplace” something that she is passionate about. In 2018, she became a contributing member to the Diversity & Inclusion Research Programme, which is designed to understand diversity and inclusion in business finance organisations. Something like this is certainly a step in the right direction and the aim is to identify barriers and opportunities, uncover best practices and pinpoint interventions that work.
Laura commented: “Diversity, equality and inclusion should be engrained into the company culture and represent a basic commitment of any company doing business in today’s world. In my opinion, it’s about dealing with people as individuals, with respect, without judgement and being understanding to our differences and accepting of them.”
GOOD LUCK LAURA!
