On Thursday 24th November Alex Cooper, Senior Account Manager and Luke Taylor, Trainee Account Manager went along to this year’s Southampton Business Expo, which was held at The Ageas Bowl.
Alex Cooper (Senior Account Manager) commented:
“This is the first non-finance industry commercial expo that myself or Liberty have attended, so I didn’t know what to quite expect and I have to say that we had a great time. It was a jam packed day full of helpful seminars and workshops as well as influential keynote speakers. However, I believe it was the friendly and relaxed atmosphere that made the day so enjoyable. It was really easy really easy to engage with other Local Businesses, exhibitors and visitors alike.
I feel my colleague Luke Taylor who has only been a Trainee Account Manager since September did a fantastic job in representing Liberty. Having a local platform like the Southampton Business Expo where you can meet other business professionals is invaluable. We were able to explain how Liberty can help with asset purchases and raising capital from existing assets and in turn learn about what other businesses do. I think the fact that we already have our sights on attending the next Business Expo down in Bournemouth next year speaks for itself.”
Liberty believes strongly in developing talent and individuals within the business and Luke is a great example of this. Having joined Liberty at the age of 19 in July 2015 as a Sales Administrator, he welcomed the opportunity to become a Trainee Account Manager in September of this year.
Luke also commented:
“I’m literally a few months into my new position and this is the second event I’ve attended and helped with. Liberty has really encouraged me to progress and I feel my confidence on a professional level has grown massively in the past year and events like this certainly help with that. I spoke to lots of different people at the Expo from a range of industries and it was really interesting learning about what they do.
I’m glad I had my manager Alex there as he’s done a lot of these shows and gave me some really good advice. I was surprised how many people recognised the Liberty logo from our office, which is based in Warsash. Overall, it was a great day and the organisers did a fantastic job hosting it at The Ageas Bowl and I walked away having met a lot of interesting people and more business cards than I could fit in my pocket.”
