Laura Roberts is the latest colleague to join the Liberty Leasing Family. Laura is a qualified Solicitor bringing with her over 12 years of experience within the asset finance and invoice finance sectors.
Head of Legal is a new position for Liberty and a welcomed one. Allan Clegg, Managing Director commented:
“As an Independent Finance House our autonomy and ability to make quick decisions is very important to us. By appointing Laura as our new Head of Legal we are able to reduce a reliance on external firms, which is a benefit we can pass onto our customers and clients. Improving turnaround and speed is something we are continually working on and we believe Laura will be pivotal in helping us achieve this as well as bringing a wealth of industry specific experience and knowledge.”

Laura’s role involves providing in-house legal assistance on documents, transactions, security, property and bespoke documentation. With a team of 3 reporting directly to Laura there is certainly scope for the department to grow and is an invaluable asset to the company providing legal assistance and guidance.
Laura explained what attracted her to Liberty Leasing:
“I’m certainly one who enjoys a challenge and the prospect of establishing a legal department for Liberty was very appealing to me. I believe I have the chance to not only help Liberty be more efficient but also operate with more confidence in new areas where reliance on external firms would have previously been necessary.
My career in the finance sector started with a placement year whilst studying Business Law at Bournemouth University and I’ve not looked back since. Having been at Liberty for a few months I can honestly say they’ve welcomed me with open arms and I’m excited about this next stage in my career.”
Continued Success & Growth
In the last 8 years the Liberty team has more than doubled to over 40 employees and having outgrown their previous offices in Hamble, Liberty relocated to new premises in Warsash, Southampton back in September 2014.
In March Liberty Leasing was named for the second time in the “Top 100 Companies to Inspire Britain for 2015” which is a list compiled by the London Stock Exchange celebration of some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK.
